Simplified instalation instruction for aluminium hinges for the swing insect screen MRO

Types of hinges:

a) hinges for the insect screen without a frame

b) hinges for the insect screen with a frame

Method for the installation of hinges:

Hinge placement:

a) insect screen without a frame

b) insect screen with a frame

Pre-tensioning of the hinges with a spring:

a) insect screen without a frame

In order to pre-tension the spring of the hinge, turn it about 1/2 turn [1] to the point where it can be locked (the upper opening overlaps with the opening in the shaft of the hinge) with the rod included in the set [2]. The tightened hinge with the protection should be screwed to the wing of the insect screen on the inside [3], and then to the window frame. Remove the protection after installation of hinges.

b) insect screen with a frame

In order to pre-tension the spring of the hinge, turn it about 3/4 turn [1] to the point where it can be locked (the lower opening overlaps with the opening in the shaft of the hinge) with the rod included in the set [2]. The tightened hinge with the protection should be screwed to the wing of the insect screen on the outside [3], and then to the insect screen frame. Remove the protection after installation of hinges.

General comments:

1. The hinges should be screwed in the right place on the main profile and on the insect screen frame.

2. Cut the brush weatherstrip at the point at which the hinge is attached to the wing of the insect screen without a frame.

3. When tightening the screws make sure that the heads do not protrude beyond the surface of the hinge.

4. When selecting the hinge follow the principle that the left/right hinge is the one, which is on the left/right side when you open the wing in your direction.

5. Mount the hinge into the insect screen frame and window frame using the screws provided in the set, however if the insect screen is mounted directly onto the wall, select the suitable pins and bolts individually.
